Sound Design by Joseph Bishara
This is an interactive performance using a live image of the audience that is played on a screen found on the artist’s face. The audience has the ability to see them selves interact with the performer while a moving graphic of growing plants outlines the screen. A video projection is projected on the back wall and on the body of the performer. The performance itself is the act of reaching out to the audience while the viewer places their hand to try and connect with the artist. Together, the viewer and artist move their hands together. It appears choreographed but the performance is based on pure connectivity. This impromptu performance shows the flow of organic energy and electricity from person to person. This work further questions whether or not media can affect this. In retrospect, the performance has elements of both disconnection and connection.
